Irene had solo showings at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, the Pen and Brushin NewYork and the Mill Valley Library in California. She has also participated in group exhibits at the American Sumi-E show in New York, the Lincoln Center; the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, the Hammond Museum and the Silvermine Guild.
One the highlights of Irene's group exhibits was her participation in the White House Easter Exhibit.
In 1999 she received first prize at the Academy of Art College Spring Show. Irene received the Liquidex Art Award at the Pen and Brush of New York where she was a member. Irene was also a member of the American Sumi-E Society and has served as president of the Oriental Brush Guild of New Canaan in Connecticut. In the last five years, Irene has presented workshops at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, the Hammond Museum in North Salem, New York and the Northen California Art League.
Since 1975, Irene has been studying and teaching Art, her mentors have included:
- Diana Kan, in New York
- Tomoko Kodama at the Ottawa school of Art, the art and philosophy of Sumi-E
- Charles Reid and Charles Sovek, in Connecticut, at the Silvermine School of Art in Western watercolor.
- Craige Nelson and Zhou Ming Wu at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
Irene has a:
- Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of San Francisco,
- Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University
- Teaching Diploma from McGill University
